This committee is responsible for hosting a yearly public forum on issues facing the African-American community. This forum provides an opportunity for scholars, experts in various fields and the general public to discuss and bring clarity to these issues.

This committee is responsible for the chapter’s annual dance. The scholarship recipients are recognized at this event with the assistance of the Scholarship Committee.
Economic & Business Development (Goldminers Investment Club)

The investment club has been established to 1.) Educate Alpha Phi Alpha membership about evaluating investment alternatives and 2.) Emphasize the importance of and provide the means to enhance wealth creation. The investment club meets monthly and members are required to pay $50 per month.

This committee is responsible for the long range planning for the chapter, including but not limited to brotherhood, finances, and projects.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
Bro. Keith L. Shannon
The Washington, D.C. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Foundation is a project of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., of which Dr. King was a member. In 1998, the fraternity was authorized by the United States Congress to establish a foundation to manage the fundraising and design of a memorial to Dr. King. The group has until November 12, 2003 to complete a design, raise the money for the memorial and break ground.
Phi Lambda Golf Tournament

This committee is responsible for planning and hosting golf tournaments throughout the year.
Project Development

This committee is responsible for developing a financial plan for the Alpha Resource Center, paying off the current land obligation, and serves as a liaison to the Phi Lambda Educational Foundation, Inc.
Stars of Tomorrow
Bro. Darius K. Telfaire
This committee, in conjunction with the Phi Lambda Educational Foundation, Inc., is responsible for “Stars of Tomorrow” program, a showcase for of talented youth from Wake and Johnston Counties. Funds raised from this event are used for scholarships. Scholarships, which are determined by the Scholarship Committee, are awarded at this event.
Southern Region Leadership Institute

Leadership Development Institutes prepare outstanding high school students in the vital skills of leadership. The leadership institute is committed to:
* Enhancing organizational skills;
* Program development;
* Public presentations;
* Group dynamics;
* Self-actualization;
* Assertiveness training;
* Parliamentary procedures
These regional “academics” polish the raw talents of African-American youth. Hosted primarily on the campuses of historically black colleges, this initiative serves as a “greenhouse” for future generations of African-American leaders.
